Blogs can be useful in the classroom. I found this activity posted on Mr. Floyd's Blog and thought it sounded like a neat idea.
Mr. Floyd had students write a 6 Word Story. Yes...you read correctly! A SIX Word Story. Here is his entry:
Got the call. Broke my heart.
"Are you asking what the call is about? Are you asking who called? Want to know why it broke my heart?" Well, then good. He has you hooked. That's the point. Consider how much he said with so few words.
"Now it is your turn. I want you to post your best six word story as a comment to this post. It may be as many sentences as you would like. You may post more than one story, but please add it as a different comment." "... This is going to be the shortest writing assignment you will have in my classroom, but it can easily be the most challenging. Consider your word choice. Think about the writing process. Visualize the impact your six words will have on the reader. Does it leave them wanting more?"
